2020 Aragon GP Expert Analysis – MotoGP Betting
There are now 5 races left in the MotoGP season and the race for the championship remains wide open. None of the top contenders were able to leave much of a mark on last week’s race, with Andrea Dovizioso having the best finish of the bunch in 4th. The racers leave France behind and head to Spain, which is where the next 4 races will be held. The final race of the season will be in Portugal next month, at which point we may have a clearer picture of who the likely champion will be. For now, the racers will continue to jostle for positioning in the Gran Premio Michelin de Aragon this weekend. Fabio Quartararo
Given how things went last weekend in France, Quartararo is probably more than a little disappointed at not being able to pad his lead at the top of the MotoGP standings. Finishing 9th is not the worst showing in the world, but it does little to help his cause heading into the final few weeks. He can take some comfort in the fact that the rest of the chasing pack were not up to their best either. As far as this race goes, Quartararo has not had a ton of success here in the past, with 5th being his best finish at the MotoGP level. He will need better than that if he hopes to hold on to top spot.
Joan Mir
While he is still looking for his first win at the MotoGP level, Mir’s consistency this season has helped him move into second in the standings, just 10 points back of Quartararo. He hurt his chances of winning this whole thing last weekend in France, where he finished well off the pace in 11th. It is, though, the first time that he has finished outside of the top 5 in the races that he has completed this season. If he is to win the championship, you have to believe that he needs a win in the final few week. He has won before at this track, but that came in Moto3.
Andrea Dovizioso
Despite not racing at his very best over the past few weeks, the Italian is still hanging around in 3rd in the standings, well within reach of the leader. Dovizioso di manage to make up some ground last weekend in France, finishing 4th in that race, which was the best finish of the riders in the top 4. Given what we have seen from him in the past at this race, he might well be able to make up even more ground this weekend. Dovizioso has finished second here in each of the last two seasons.
Maverick Vinales
Vinales has a win and another pair of podium finishes this season, but the last couple of weeks have not been great for him, with 9th being his best finish in the last two races. He is still very much within reach of the top spot, though, but he needs to get back to that podium form rather quickly. He does have a win at this track, but it came at the Moto2 level. In MotoGP, his best finish here is 4th, which he has managed on 3 separate occasions.
