2020 NFL Week 3 ATS Expert Analysis

We are only 2 weeks into the NFL regular season, and we are already seeing some unexpected results come our way, all of which makes handicapping games that much more difficult. That is part of the fun of wagering on sports, though, and looking at the early spreads for this coming week, we are going to have a job on our hands again. There are a ton of games that the bookies have listed in the 2 ½ – 3 ½ point range, which should give you an idea of the level of parity that we are looking at in the early going. There are a lot of fantastic matchups on the schedule for Week 3, and while we can’t hit them all, we are going to make some picks against the spread in this piece so you can wager on their NFL odds. We will also have SU and O/U picks coming your way, so keep an eye out for those.

Week 3 ATS Picks for the 2020 Season | NFL Betting

San Francisco 49ers (-4) at New York Giants

Injuries have proven to be a major issue through the first couple of weeks of the season, with both of these teams falling prey to the injury bug. The 49ers have a lot of guys on the list, including QB Jimmy Garoppolo, but it does look as though he will play this weekend. That is not the case for the Giants, who have lost RB Saquon Barkley, arguably their most potent weapon, for the season. In short, you have to say that the Giants have been hit harder, and their 0-2 start to the year now looks like a sign of things to come. The 49ers have covered the spread in 4 of their last 5 road games, and I like them to cover again in this one.

New York Jets at Indianapolis Colts (-10 ½)

It’s absolutely natural to overreact to the results from Week 1 of the season and decide that teams are good or bad based on a single performance. It’s natural, but it’s not a good idea to think that way, especially this season, when teams had to skip the preseason and lose valuable reps. One thing that we can probably say with some level of certainty is that the New York Jets look like a team destined to struggle through what will feel like a long season. They will be on the road to a Colts team that struggled in Week 1, but who looked dominant in their win over the Vikings last weekend. Week 3 has been a good time to bet on the Colts, who are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 played in that week.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-6 ½) at Denver Broncos

It’s always exciting when a team believes that they have found the QB that will be their starter for years to come. The Denver Broncos believe that they have that with Drew Lock, but they are going to have to manage without him for a few weeks after he was forced to exit the game against the Pittsburgh Steelers over the weekend. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers finally began to look like the team we expected them to be in Week 2, so I like them to head to Denver and take advantage of a team that is struggling with injuries right now.
