NFL 2020 Week 6 ATS Picks Expert Analysis

We are just 5 weeks into the season, and we have already witnessed our first coaching casualty of the year. The writing was on the wall for Dan Quinn in Atlanta last season, but a strong finish to the season saved him. An 0-5 start to this season was the straw that broke the camels back in the ATL, as the Falcons are now looking for a new coach and GM. I had picked the Falcons last week, assuming that they would snap out of it and get a win, but they already look like a team that has thrown in the towel in on 2020. I might well be steering clear of them the rest of the way, unless things change dramatically before the end of the year. There are still plenty of games to look at against the spread this week, so let’s get right to it and make some selections so you can wager on their NFL odds.

Week 6 ATS Picks for the 2020 Season | NFL Betting

Houston Texans at Tennessee Titans (-3)

I will confess to being a little nervous about this one, simply because it will be a very short week for the Tennessee Titans, who played and won against the Buffalo Bills on Tuesday night. Putting that aside, this still looks like a very winnable game for the Titans. Houston is coming into this game on the heels of their first win of the season, but taking down the Jacksonville Jaguars is not what you would call an epic victory. On the other hand, the Titans looked brilliant against a very good Buffalo Bills team on Tuesday night, winning that one 42-16. Neither team has been impressive against the spread, but there is one trend that stands out. After the Titans cover, as they did on Tuesday, they are 5-2 ATS in their last 7.

New York Jets at Miami Dolphins (-9)

With a win here, the Miami Dolphins could get themselves back to .500 on the season, which is probably something that very few people saw coming. This is not a team that is going to suddenly rise up and challenge for the East, but this is a respectable start to the season for a team that is very much in rebuilding mode. On the flipside, we have the disaster that is the New York Jets, who just announced that they are severing ties with RB LeVeon Bell. They are now 0-5 on the season and it really is tough to see where a win is going to come from this year. Following a double-digit home loss, the Jets are 2-5 ATS in their last 7. The Dolphins are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 versus teams from the AFC.

LA Rams (-4) at San Francisco 49ers

I’m not sure what it is about losing in the Super Bowl, but seeing teams losing in the big game and then failing to make the playoffs in the following season is becoming a definite trend. The San Francisco 49ers, who are 2-3 on the season, might yet claw their way back, but their growing injury list would appear to suggest that they are in for a tough time of it this year. The LA Rams are better than we expected and are at 4-1, good enough to challenge the unbeaten Seahawks in the West. Besides the obvious, there is a lot to like about the Rams in this one, especially against the spread. They are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 versus teams with a home losing record, while also going 5-0-1 ATS in their last 6 games on grass.
